Utz Named CEO Of ECB Bancorp
April 29, 2009 (FinancialWire) — ECB Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: ECBE) (Current Market Cap: US$50.39 Mil.) will appoint A. Dwight Utz as president and chief executive officer to succeed Arthur H. Keeney III, effective July 1. ECB said it had been searching for around six months for a successor to Kenney, who said last fall that he planned to retire in mid-year 2009.
Utz is currently executive vice president and chief retail officer of MidSouth Bancorp (AMEX: MSL), a bank holding company in Lafayette, Louisiana. He has also held senior management positions with the former CCNB Bank N.A., a Pennsylvania multi-bank holding company.
Engelhard, North Carolina-based ECB Bancorp is a bank holding company whose East Carolina Bank unit is a state-chartered community bank that operates through 24 offices in eastern North Carolina.
