Europe and Eurasia: Assistant Secretary Victoria Nuland Travel to the Netherlands, Germany, Lithuania, Romania, and France, January 7 - 13
On January 7, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to The Hague, Netherlands, where she will meet with senior Dutch government officials to discuss bilateral and other foreign policy issues, including planning for the Nuclear Security Summit, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, and U.S.-Dutch collaboration on European and global issues.
Assistant Secretary Nuland will then travel to Berlin, Germany, on January 8 to meet with senior German and other European government officials to discuss the range of bilateral and global issues.
On January 9, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Vilnius, Lithuania, where she will meet with senior Lithuanian government officials and attend the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry’s annual Snow Meeting on Euro-Atlantic security issues, which brings together key members of the transatlantic foreign policy community.
In Bucharest, Romania, from January 10-11, Assistant Secretary Nuland will meet with senior Romanian government officials and members of civil society to discuss bilateral and regional issues, including efforts to strengthen the rule of law.
On January 12, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Paris, France.
