Young Jewish Global Activists to Gather for AJC ACCESS Conference
April 30, 2012 – Washington DC – Hundreds of young Jewish activists from around the world will come together this weekend for AJC’s ACCESS 20/20 conference in Washington, DC. It is the second annual ACCESS conference, and will follow the conclusion of the AJC Global Forum. ACCESS is the global advocacy organization’s emerging young leadership division, and has grown rapidly in membership and range of activities since its founding.
“The ACCESS 20/20 weekend provides a unique experience for passionate younger Jewish leaders to discuss and mobilize in support of Israel and address other key issues in the global debate,” said Alexis Frankel, acting director of AJC ACCESS.
Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, will deliver the keynote address on Friday.
Earlier that afternoon attendees will participate in Strategic Crossroads, a game designed exclusively for ACCESS to dynamically engage with politics and diplomacy. Workshops over the weekend will help participants build tools to communicate effectively with international opinion-makers and key community leaders, and cultivate productive collaboration with global activists.
More than a third of the 350 participants are coming from Europe, Israel, Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Africa to participate in the weekend ACCESS 20/20 event.
Partnering on the AJC ACCESS 20/20 weekend are the Reut Institute, JTA, The Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs for the State of Israel, and the Consulate General of Israel in New York.
