Started as a web-based business using a commercial kitchen at Redwood Acres in 2012, Mia Bella Cupcakes has grown over the years. Now at home in their beloved and cheerful space in downtown Arcata, they are a premiere location for birthday parties, baby showers, and celebrations of all kinds. The cupcakery, focused on quality ingredients and an artful attention to detail, features a long list of flavors including gluten-free and vegan options for those with dietary restrictions on their rotating menu.
“Partnering with another local business who models a dedication to craft was essential as we started dreaming up the plans for new collaborative events this year,” said Jessica Carenco, Marketing Director at Mad River Brewery. “Mia Bella Cupcakes immediately came to mind, and we are excited to kick things off and share our crafts together for a fun, unique experience this Valentine’s Day.”
Mad River Brewery, a local craft brewery in Blue Lake, has been hand-crafting ales in Humboldt County since 1989. They have partnered with many local businesses in both the food and craft beverage realm over the years to offer an array of interesting pairings and products to their local audience. In 2022, the brewery hosted an introductory five-course dinner and beer pairing event with local Chef, Rochelle Burgess, whose menu you can explore at Carriage House in Arcata. And just last year, the brewery celebrated a special release including two barrel-aged porters brewed in whiskey barrels from Alchemy Distillery.
“Valentine’s Day is always a special day of the year for us,” said Bonnie DeBord, owner of Mia Bella Cupcakes. “We are excited to collaborate with another local business offering exquisite flavors and unique experiences.”
A fine fit for locals looking for something different that tantalizes the tastebuds, the Valentine’s package can be customized to include two hand-crafted pints or two mini flights, perfect for sharing.
