Wascana Busker Festival Is The Perfect End-Of-Summer Soundtrack

CANADA, September 15 - Released on September 15, 2023

Music will fill the air at Wascana Centre as the Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) hosts the Wascana Busker Festival on Saturday, September 16, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Join Saskatchewan artists throughout the park as they play different genres of music amidst the seasonal fall colours.

"On September 16, we invite you to come out for a day of entertainment around Wascana Lake," Minister Responsible for the Provincial Capital Commission Don McMorris said. "This exciting event will be the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Saskatchewan fall weather while supporting local prairie talent."

There will be 14 performers, each bringing their own unique style to their busking set. The event will feature a little bit of everything from rock music to blue grass. The musicians will be located on the Queen Elizabeth II East Lawn and North Shore Landing. Get energized in between performances with food and treats for purchase from local food trucks Absolute Zero and Benny's Bistro.

"We're excited to welcome visitors to our Busker Festival at Wascana Centre," Provincial Capital Commission Executive Director Jenna Schroeder said. "Treat yourself to a Saturday in the park with free entertainment, delicious food options and Regina's most iconic and beloved park space that will showcase the changing seasons."

While performers are compensated by the PCC, donations from the audience are accepted during individual performances.
