FORENSIC TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR
Jackson Laboratory
Madison County

Job Duties: Accepts evidence from submitting law enforcement representatives ensuring evidence is properly packaged and sealed prior to acceptance into laboratory. Creates and manages cases in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Works with law enforcement officers and laboratory employees to assign appropriate laboratory testing requests. Ensures all evidence is always properly sealed and documented, stored securely, and proper chain of custody is maintained. Monitors and ensures Evidence Receiving Unit is operating in accordance with TBI policy and accreditation guidelines (CALEA and ANAB). Assists with internal and external accreditation audits and assessments. Monitors unit security, equipment, and safety. Authors and provides input into laboratory policy.

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited university with an associate’s degree and experience equivalent to four years of full-time experience within a criminal justice setting performing evidence management. Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduation from an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required experience to a maximum of two years.

Monthly Salary: $3,947 – $6,124
