Court backlogs for many important types of cases are down since their highs during the pandemic, according to figures from the Judicial Council. The improvement appears to have come because of a dose of emergency funding, along with a sharp drop in case filings. But the numbers have gotten worse in a half dozen case types, notably felonies and unlawful detainers.
