Our Partner Chuniding Food Launches New Local Food Products

Congratulations to our partner Chuniding Food for launching their new food products! Preserving age-old recipes and adapting to modern lifestyles, Chuniding has now prepared a selection of pre-cooked vacuum-packaged meals. These meals provide a healthy, nutritious and easy option to prepare meals for trekkers, pilgrims, and even school lunches for kids! A variety of wholesome Bhutanese recipes like Totsey (fried rice), Kewa Datsi (potato cheese), Shamu Datsi (mushroom cheese), Shakam Pa (dried beef), Sikam Pa (dried pork) and Ema Datsi (chili cheese) are being prepared mainly with local and organic produce from farmers across Bhutan.

The Bhutan Foundation is excited to work with Chuniding to scale up their production facility to help support local farmers and prevent surplus produce from going to waste. This program was made possible with the generous support of the American people through USAID (US Agency for International Development).
