Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov has met with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measure in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, it was noted that the Uzbek side considers the CICA as an important platform for strengthening dialogue in the name of stability and promoting inclusive development in the vast Asian region.

In recent years, the country has significantly stepped up its participation in the activities of this structure. The importance of the comprehensive implementation of the initiatives put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the CICA Summit in October 2022 in Astana, on strengthening cooperation in regional stability, youth policy, ecology and ensuring food security, was emphasized.

The parties discussed the schedule of planned events under the auspices of the CICA, including the next meeting of the Youth Council in April this year in Samarkand.

Views were exchanged on the regional agenda.
