Legal Issues in Health Care Reform Will Be Focus of ABA Summit in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 11, 2011 – How will health care reform be affected by federal spending reductions? How will the new regulations impact physician practices? Is the Patient Affordable Care Act unconstitutional? These and other emerging legal issues facing doctors, policymakers and lawyers will be at the focus of the American Bar Association Health Law Section’s Washington Healthcare Summit Oct. 17-18 in Washington, D.C..

Lawyers, doctors and other health care experts will discuss legal scope of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Accountable Care Organizations and health insurance exchanges.

Liz Fowler, an author of the health care reform law and now a presidential adviser overseeing its execution, will report on the state of implementation and what is anticipated with the most significant changes to the health care system in generations.

Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli will offer a state attorney general’s perspective on health care fraud and his state’s health care fraud enforcement efforts.
