Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the 1200 block of 5^th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 8:46 am, members of the Third District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim, conscious and breathing, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victims to area hospitals for treatment.

On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, 17-year-old Cedrick Brockington, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for this offense. After consultation with the United States Attorneys’ Office for the District of Columbia, Brockington has been charged as an adult with Assault with Intent to Commit Murder, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), and Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence.
