CFO Jimmy Patronis applauds Governor DeSantis for Signing Bill Relieving Rising Insurance Rates
 
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued the following statement on Governor DeSantis signing Senate Bill 1058 that provides Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund coverage for private market insurers who take on certain policies and limits the growth of policies covered by Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.
 
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “Thank you to Governor DeSantis for your leadership and for signing this important bill that will work to reduce the cost of insurance for Florida consumers. It is essential to make sure Floridians are insured. This legislation will increase the opportunity for private insurers to take on more customers and decrease the pressure on Florida’s state insurance option. Thank you to Senator Hutson and Representative Stevenson for your hard work in passing this bill through the Florida Legislature. As Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, I am pleased to see Senate Bill 1058 cross the finish line and hopefully provide some much-needed relief for Florida insurance companies and for Florida consumers.”
