NREL to Showcase Advanced Vehicles at “National Night Out” Event in Broomfield

The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will showcase a electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle on August 2 at Broomfield Community Commons Park.
The vehicles on display are part of NREL’s advanced vehicle fleet, which features promising technologies designed to increase efficiency, reduce emissions, and use renewable resources without sacrificing safety or comfort. NREL volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the vehicles and provide free brochures about renewable energy, alternative fuels, and advanced vehicles.
NREL’s booth also will feature an electrolyzer and fuel cell unit, and a portable fuel cell for charging handheld electronic devices.
