Unlimited Priorities® donates furniture to Xavier University of Louisiana Library

LOCALLY PURCHASED ITEMS SUPPORT NEW ORLEANS ECONOMY

Cape Coral, Fla. – Unlimited Priorities Corporation has announced that it will donate the furniture from its exhibit booth at the 2011 American Library Association Annual Conference to the Library Resource Center of Xavier University of Louisiana.

Xavier University was founded as a high school in 1915 by St. Katharine Drexel of Philadelphia.  The four-year college program was added in 1925.  Today, Xavier retains its distinction as the only historically Black Catholic University in the United States.

The booth furnishings to be donated were purchased locally at Furniture Mart and include a black pleather sofa, two black pleather armchairs, a coffee table and two end tables.  The conference exhibit double-booth is a shared enterprise with Accessible Archives, Inc.©, an Unlimited Priorities’ client.

Iris L. Hanney, president of Unlimited Priorities, explained the reasons behind the donation decision: “We have participated in many library conferences over the years and finally have reached a point where in good conscience we cannot simply rent furniture for thousands of dollars, only to return it when the exhibits close.  Instead, we want to be good stewards and donate the furniture to a deserving institution.  Therefore, we are extremely pleased to be able to place this furniture in the Library Resource Center at Xavier University where we are certain it will be well used.”

Robert Skinner, University Librarian, said: “In these hard economic times, it’s unusual to see a vendor make an investment in a client like Unlimited Priorities has done with this furniture.  We’re pleased and proud to have been chosen for this donation, and think it a very appropriate gift for a library.  After all, no matter how digital a library becomes, it still has to have comfortable furniture for students to sit in.”

Conference attendees may visit Unlimited Priorities at booth #2225 – listed under Accessible Archives –
in the exhibits area at the ALA 2011 Annual Conference in New Orleans.  Unlimited Priorities is the exclusive sales and marketing agent for Accessible Archives.
