LaRose Spotlights Innovative Businesses for Inventors Month

COLUMBUS – May is National Inventors Month, and no other state can compare to Ohio’s contribution to the American drive to innovate and create. Ohio’s heritage is invention, but that heritage goes far beyond the famous inventors we learned about in school. Today, here in the Buckeye State, Ohioans are pushing the limits of innovation and making their mark.

“I’m always amazed at the innovative business ideas coming from Ohioans,” said LaRose. “It is especially gratifying that inventors and entrepreneurs are choosing to chase their dreams here at home, utilizing the vast business and technology resources we have all over the state.”

From advanced medical technology to simple patented designs that make everyday life easier, Ohioans are continuously coming up with new products and ways to improve our lives while creating jobs that employ our fellow Ohioans. Startup incubators located throughout our state have helped small businesses launch and grow, pairing innovative, hard-working Ohioans with much-needed capital and other resources. Over the past few weeks alone, the Secretary has had the good fortune of meeting with both the Youngstown Business Incubator and the Greater West Dayton Business Incubator, both of which are working hand in glove with incredibly talented Ohioans to help them turn unique ideas into marketable products and services.

If you have an idea or skill that you want to turn into a business, visit the Secretary of State's Business Services page, where you can file your new business and connect with valuable resources so that your business can contribute to Ohio’s prospering economy.
