Washington, DC- On November 2^nd, Texas voters turned words into historical results, electing 22 new Republican lawmakers to the Texas House of Representatives. FreedomWorks applauds this clear victory for the limited government movement, and urges Texas conservatives to stay involved in the pursuit of lower taxes, less government and more individual freedom.

This clear Republican victory grants Texans the opportunity to elect true fiscal conservatives as Speaker and committee chairmen in the State House. The occupants of these influential leadership positions will be crucial in activists’ efforts to move a conservative agenda forward in the next legislative session in Austin.

After working so hard to elect true conservatives, grassroots activists cannot allow big-government Republicans to lead taxpayers down the wrong path in the Texas House. FreedomWorks is confident that state Representative Ken Paxton (R-McKinney) would drive our fiscally conservative agenda as the next Speaker of the Texas House.

Rep. Paxton has a 100 percent rating from the Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, and is the highest rated lawmaker by The Young Conservatives of Texas. He is a committed conservative who will lead Republicans in the Texas House toward a small-government agenda for years to come.
