The Maternal mHealth Initiative (MMI) seeks to unite ICT, especially mobile, with the expertise of maternal, newborn and child health practitioners to reduce maternal and infant mortality while improving the health of mothers and newborn children. As a formal step to engage a broad global community in this effort, the mHealth Alliance will host a formal working session at the close of this year’s mHealth Summit.
The working session will feature a series of individual roundtables on the following topics:
- The Continuum of Care within the Context of ICT and Mobile Solutions
- The Role of Public Information and Social Media
- New Methods of Monitoring and Evaluation
- Capacity Building and Training of Front-line Care Providers
- The Economics of Maternal and Newborn Health: The Role of Public-Private Partnerships
To begin conversation around these topics, please visit the MMI space on HUB at the address below. We encourage participants to initiate thoughts, questions and ideas prior to the session. Once at the session, participants will be able to discuss the chosen topic with stakeholders from various areas, including NGO, corporate and government sectors; as well as participate in dialogue that will be placed back on HUB. The goal of the session is to create a meaningful and continuous discourse that will cultivate innovative ideas, potential answers to challenging questions, and possible future collaborations.
