Ohio Mesothelioma Reporter: mesothelioma asbestos abatement news
Ohio Mesothelioma Report:
Using President Obama’s federal stimulus funding, Gordon Square Theater in Cleveland, Ohio will undergo a much-needed asbestos abatement renovation.
With the help of federal stimulus money, Cleveland, Ohio’s Gordon Square Theater will undergo asbestos abatement as part of the $200,00 funding for the renovation of the Cleveland Public Theatre, according to cleveland.com.
The city’s historic Gordon Square Arts District has recently undergone a multimillion-dollar redevelopment. The asbestos abatement undertaking will create numerous jobs for the neighborhood and will also help to make the building a safer place for the community. Asbestos is a highly toxic material, and when disturbed, it can cause a great deal of dangerous diseases.
When asbestos particles become airborne, they are easily inhaled leading to a long list of deadly illnesses including lung cancer, asbestosis and mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is the most aggressive, known to form from the mesothelium, and without any known cure.
Mesothelioma can remain dormant for up to fifty years, making treatment of the asbestos cancer, such as surgery and chemotherapy, only palliative.
The stimulus funding will help pay for asbestos removal in the ceiling of the theater and will begin in January, to conclude in March.
