May 14, 2010 (FinancialWire) — HMS Holdings (NASDAQ: HMSY) said that it has been awarded a contract by the State of Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Services, to provide third party recovery services, including cost avoidance, credit balance audits, post payment recoveries, disallowances and Mass Tort.
The contract is for a one-year term, with six additional one-year renewal options.
Arkansas’ Division of Medical Services, which oversees the state’s Medicaid program and the Office of Long Term Care, provides health coverage to more than 750,000 Arkansans.
HMS has served the state of Arkansas since 1994, providing cost containment services that have resulted in millions of dollars in savings for the Medicaid program.
New York-based HMS is offers coordination of benefits and program integrity services for healthcare payors.
