April 7, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Redline Communications Group Inc. (TSX: RDL) a provider of broadband wireless infrastructure products, said it has been selected as a broadband wireless solutions provider for the "Digital Rio" program in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The $1.8 million dollar order has begun shipment and should be completed by the end this year, according to Redline.

Under the award, Redline will provide its AN-80i broadband wireless solutions for the state run broadband program, which is being funded by Rio de Janeiro's Department of Science and Technology to increase digital inclusion throughout the state.

The AN-80i solutions will be used for backhaul connectivity to a Cisco Systems Wireless Mesh network that will cover a 190 square kilometer area, with the potential to reach 1.4 million people, according to Redline.

Canada-based Redline Communications is a provider of wireless broadband products with more than 150,000 installations in 130 countries, and a network of over 150 partners.
