Data centre provider Gyron Internet announces 10th birthday expansion in celebration of major contract wins.

PRESS DISPENSARY - Tuesday, Mar 23, 2010 - Gyron, a leading UK provider of specialist datacentre services, is celebrating its 10th birthday in style by announcing a large expansion at its state of the art Centro datacentre following contract wins in excess of GBPGBP 3.85m for services at the facility.

The fit out works will add an additional 360kW of IT capacity within the datacentre at Hemel Hempstead, over 85% of which has already been contracted for. Work on the expansion space is due to complete on the 1st of June, exactly 1 year after the Centro facility first opened its doors to customer equipment.

"Our approach from day one when designing the Centro facility was to ensure that the datacentre infrastructure was completely modular. This has allowed us to rapidly expand operations at the site to meet unprecedented demand for our services, and also increase the specification of our services when needed to suit specific customer requirements. State of the art power and cooling systems have been specified for the expansion area, along with a custom hot-aisle containment system designed in-house, allowing a best-in-class target Power usage Effectiveness (PuE) of between 1.3 and 1.4, whilst simultaneously providing enhanced 2N redundancy on the power infrastructure.
