This week, I was able to have one of my bills heard in committee. Senate Bill 743 would authorize the cities of Clinton and Lincoln to propose a levy for public safety. This would allow those cities the flexibility to make improvements to their police forces, by hiring and retaining additional officers, or purchasing new equipment. More importantly, it gives those who live in these communities the ability to vote on this opportunity. I hope my fellow members of my Missouri Senate Local Government and Elections Committee will approve this proposal to move forward.
