LITHUANIA, October 27 - Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has sent her greetings to the Czech Republic on the Independence Day, along with the best wishes for the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of the Czech Republic.

‘This is a special year for our bilateral relations, as we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our diplomatic relations and the 30th Anniversary of their restoration. On this occasion, let me express the highest appreciation for the friendship between our countries and our people, as well as for the partnership and cooperation within the EU and NATO. The contribution of the Czech Republic to the Air Policing Mission and to NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic states is very important in strengthening the security of our region and of the entire Europe’, reads Prime Minister’s letter.

In her message to Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš, the Prime Minister notes that the solidarity and close cooperation is even more essential in countering the traditional and hybrid challenges facing Europe today. Lithuania is grateful for your country’s attention and support in dealing with the hybrid attack from Belarus regime, using illegal migration. I am also happy to note our joint efforts in strengthening the Eastern Partnership policy and supporting those, who are fighting for their democratic rights and sovereign choices.
