November 17, 2021 Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services

In partnership with the York County Mental Health Docket, the Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services is hosting a three module CLE on December 1, 8, and 15th focusing on mental health. There is no registration fee, but you must register for each module individually. Each program has been MCILS and BBO approved for the listed credits.

MODULE 1: Introducing the York County Mental Health Docket An introduction to the new York County mental health docket and discussion about mental health dockets generally with Justice Douglas and Justice Murphy and a walkthrough of common forms with Dr. Sarah Miller of State Forensic Services.

MODULE 2: A Deeper Look With the State Forensic Service A discussion with Dr. Sarah Miller and Dr. Shalene Kirkley of the State Forensic Service to discuss the mission of State Forensic, the methods they use in conducting assessments and how to best utilize those methods to get the questions you have answered.

Module 3: Ethics in Mental Health Cases and Dockets A discussion of ethical considerations in cases involved with mental health dockets and their resolutions with Bar Counsel Julia Sheridan, ADA Andrew Berggren, and Defense Attorney Robert J. Ruffner.
