Gagandeep Baidwan Discusses Paving His Path in the Trucking Industry

Gagandeep Baidwan was drawn to that “life on the road” since he was a child and he pursued his own career in the industry after graduating high school in the early 2000’s.
Now, having built up his career and managing his own successful trucking company, Baidwan discussed the overall appeal and benefits of serving in the trucking industry.
Gagandeep Baidwan explained that he is his own boss, so he likes to see what loads are available and decide if he wants to take the freight or not. He further shared that he likes the freedom of being able to plan out his drivers routes and which loads he is going to take next.
According to Baidwan, the “good pay” provides strong appeal to careers in the trucking industry, but being able to “be his own boss” and maintain a positive work-life balance is what ultimately drew him to the field.
“It gives me a lot of freedom and the ability to maintain work-life balance. The work can get slow at times or you’ll have busy seasons, but you still have the ability to make your own schedule, said Baidwan. “I also work with my drivers to plan out their preferred routes so they can stay close to home for an event or family gathering.”
To be successful, Baidwan said that working hard and making time for family is the best advice he would offer anyone.
“If you work hard to make a good living you feel good about yourself and your family will respect that you are a hard worker. I watched my dad go to work and always knew he was out there working hard. I was always so proud of him and wanted that for my family,” said Gagandeep Baidwan.
