PROJECT DETAILS: This work is part a $12.6 million investment by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to repair or replace six bridges near the M-39/US-12 interchange in Dearborn in three locations:

- The bridges over the Rouge River, south of US-12. The northbound service drive is being closed in order to rebuild the northbound bridge over the Rouge River. The southbound bridge has already been repaired.

- The railroad bridges over northbound and southbound M-39, south of US-12, are currently being replaced.

- The eastbound and westbound US-12 bridges over M-39 are being replaced. Currently, the eastbound US-12 bridge is being worked on and is expected to be completed by mid- to late June and then work will begin on the westbound bridge.

SAFETY BENEFIT: The repair and replacement of these bridges will ensure safer routes for drivers through this very busy interchange that accommodates approximately 100,000 drivers daily.

ESSENTIAL WORK: This road construction project is an essential function. Transportation workers in the field follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines to limit their risk of getting sick.
