“Kévin Estre joining as a mentor in the 2019 GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama is more than just an honour,” said Marc Ouayoun, President & CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. “I’ve known Kévin for more than 10 years when he raced in the Carrera Cup France, becoming champion in 2011. His outright talent and passion have allowed him to realize outstanding achievements, including his Le Mans win last year. We couldn’t think of a better candidate to inspire and guide our series’ drivers as they develop and hone their craft.”

“I’m really excited to be included in the GT3 Cup Challenge Canada series as a driver mentor. Although I have done a lot of coaching, this is completely new for me, as I will have to take care of the entire field,” said Kévin Estre. “The Porsche GT3 Cup is the perfect platform to prove yourself as a driver, and as this car has a unique way of driving, I’m happy to share my Carrera Cup and Supercup experience with all the drivers. A majority of the Porsche Factory drivers have a GT3 Cup background, as well as the lead amateur drivers in IMSA or WEC, which shows just how much can be learned in a 911 GT3 Cup car.”

Kévin will be present at two race weekends throughout the season: Canadian Tire Motorsport Park IMSA race weekend, July 5 to 7, and the season finale in Mont-Tremblant, September 27 to 29. Involved with Porsche Motorsport for a number of years, dating back to 2008 when he entered the Porsche Carrera Cup France for the first time, Kévin progressed to Supercup in 2012 and became a Porsche Factory Driver to start the 2016 race season.

He is currently in first place in the WEC GT FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship with one race left in the 2018-2019 Super Season at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 15 and 16, 2019.
