Luanda, ANGOLA, May 11 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, discharged on Friday, at his request, Gaspar Santos Rufino from the post of secretary of State for National Defence, to which he had been appointed in October, 2017.,

On a press note, the President's Civil Office announces that Gaspar Rufino was replaced by Vice-Admiral Jose Maria de Lima, who was in turn dismissed from the position of director of the National Defence Institute of the Ministry of National Defence.

Also on Friday, the Head of the Executive Branch discharged Luís Filipe da Silva from the post of secretary of State for Water and Fernando Malheiros José Carlos from the position of Secretary of State for Public Works.

In substitution of Luís Filipe da Silva and Fernando Malheiros José Carlos, President João Lourenço appointed Lucrécio Alexandre Manuel da Costa (secretary of State for Water) and Carlos Alberto Gregório dos Santos (secretary of State for Public Works).
