NorthStar Moving Reduces Food Waste at Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco Half Marathon

NorthStar Moving Delivers Unused Food to Local Food Bank

SAN FRANCISCO, April 18, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NorthStar Moving® Company, the leading eco-luxury mover in California, partnered with Move for Hunger to ensure left over food at the 2019 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Francisco Half Marathon was not wasted.

/EIN News/ -- NorthStar Moving gathered 14,958 pounds of leftover food, water and beverages from the half marathon and delivered them to a local food bank to help feed those in need in the Bay Area.

"NorthStar Moving has always been one of our biggest supporters," said Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. "Through food rescues, like this one, and food drives, they have been able to provide more than 60,000 meals for their neighbors in need. We are proud to call them our partners."

“We are always seeking ways to give back to our community,” said NorthStar Moving San Mateo Franchise Owner Hardeep Singh. “Turning leftover food from this year’s San Francisco half marathon into food that will be on the tables of those in need, is an effort that makes a lot sense and gives our team great pride. There is no reason food needs to be wasted. The almost 15,000 pounds of healthy snacks and beverages will be put to good use, and we look forward to doing it year after year.”
