Luanda, ANGOLA, March 31 - Angola and Cuba agreed to boost the bilateral relations in the parliamentary domain, with highlight on the exchange of experiences between the members of parliament of both countries.,

The information was given last Thursday by the Cuban ambassador to Angola, Esther Armenteros Cardenas, during a meeting with the chairwoman of the Commission for External Affairs, International Co-operation and Communities of the Angolan National Assembly, Josefina Diakité.

 

“The objective of my first visit here is to strengthen more and more the parliamentary interchange between both countries, whose relationship was formed in a difficult moment and was seasoned by the blood and sacrifice of heroes from both countries”.

 

She informed that Cuba has a very representative parliament, where 52 per cent of its members are women. “(...) and it (Cuba) just approved a new Constitution with the support and participation of nearly 90 per cent of the citizens”, disclosed the diplomat.

 

Esther Armenteros Cardenas also  said the bilateral relations are excellent, with highlight on education and health.

 

O her turn, MP Josefina Diakité deemed Cuba an important partner for Angola.

 

“It has the second parliament with the highest number of female MPs. We can learn with this country (...)”, Ms Diakite assured.

 

The diplomatic relations between the republics of Angola and Cuba were established on 15 November 1975.
