Head of State sends condolence to New Zealand prime minister

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 16 - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, has sent a condolence message to the prime minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, following a terrorist attack in that country, perpetrated last Friday against worshippers in two mosques in the city of Christchurch, which took the lives of about 49 people and left dozens of others injured. ,

According to a note from the Angolan President’s Press Office, João Lourenço – on behalf of the people and government of Angola – manifests firm condemnation for the action that was carried out against peaceful and defenceless people in the city of Christchurch, which resulted in the death of several people and injured others.

The note stresses that “We deplore all the violent extremes, whatever their characteristics are”.

President Lourenço also manifests his total solidarity with the relatives of the victims of the shooting - which was carried out by a man in his late twenties – with the certainty that the authorities of that country of the Pacific will be able to act in a way that the perpetrator will be exemplary punished.
