Turkish government supports re-launch of Angolan economy
The information was released Wednesday in Luanda by the Turkish ambassador to Angola, Alpy Ay, after a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
The government of Turkey is ready to cooperate, invest and diversify the Angolan economy, said the ambassador.
According to the Turkish diplomat, matters related to the oil sector can also be exploited, taking into account Angola's potential in the production of crude oil.
He added that the government of his country is ready to support the development policies carried out by the Angolan Executive.
Data of 2016 show that the trade balance between Turkey and Angola stood at 134 million dollars.
In 2014, the two countries negotiated a memorandum of understanding for political consultations and visa suppression agreement on diplomatic passports.
Angola and Turkey established diplomatic relations in 1980, but the cooperation ties started in 2008, with the agreement on trade, economic and technical cooperation between the two governments signed in Ankara.
