Head of State meets with head of Portuguese diplomacy

Luanda, ANGOLA, February 15 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, met this Friday with Foreign Affairs Minister, Augusto Santos Silva to prepare the visit of the Portuguese Head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to Angola, set for next March. ,

 

The Portuguese top diplomat who did not speak to journalists at the end of the audience granted by the Angolan head of State, Joao Lourenço, arrived in Luanda last Thursday for a 24-hour visit.

 

Portuguese Foreign Affairs Minister's agenda also includes a meeting with the Angolan counterpart, Manuel Augusto, followed by a meeting between ministerial delegations of the two countries and statements to the press.

 

 Augusto Santos Silva returns to Lisbon, Portugal Friday evening.

 

Angola and Portugal established diplomatic relations on March 9, 1976. Within the economic framework, Portuguese companies have a considerable presence in the Angolan market, in sectors such as construction, banking, food and beverage exports.
