INEA director in Cabinda accused of embezzlement detained

Cabinda, ANGOLA, February 11 - The head of the Angola Road Institute (INEA) in Cabinda, Igor Pereira, is detained at the Criminal Investigation Service, accused of crimes of embezzlement, money laundering and misappropriation of state funds.,

Angolan police source said Monday that the formalization of pre-trial detention by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) took place Friday, based on the embezzlement of 26.4 million Kwanzas, out of a total of 186.4 million to the period from 2016 to 2018.

This is money that should be used for building bridges and roads in the province.

Igor Pereira is in detention with three more members of INEA's management of the areas of finance, technique and projects.
