Head of State appoints Competition Regulatory Authority's board of directors

Luanda, ANGOLA, January 26 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, on Friday appointed the Board of Directors of the Competition Regulatory Authority, which should prevent and punish the actions of economic agents that are not in compliance with the rules and principles of competition.,

In a press release, from the civil house of the President announces that the Board of Directors is comprised by Eugenia Chela Pontes Pereira (Chairperson), José Renato Peres Mamede (administrator) and Ana Zulmira da Silva Ramalheira (administrator).

 

The Competition Regulatory Authority should exercise its sanctioning powers whenever reasons of public interest determine the opening of a transgression process according to the specific case.

 

The new Board of Directors of the Competition Regulatory Authority follows the approval of the Competition Law by the National Assembly on April 19, 2018.

 

The objective of the Law is to promote the competitiveness of economic agents and efficiency in the allocation of factors of production and distribution of goods and services.
