Luanda, ANGOLA, January 23 - Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, congratulated Félix Tshisekedi on Tuesday for his victory in last December 30 presidential election, thus becoming the new DR Congo’s president-elect.,

On a message, the Angolan President expresses his full conviction that Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo will make every effort to promote the inclusion of all forces in the Congolese nation.

On the note, President João Lourenço hopes that the Congolese president-elect will promote and guarantee the stability needed to build the foundations on which Congolese hopes for full democracy, respect for differences and strict observance of human rights.

The Angolan statesman expresses also the solidarity of Angola to all the actions that take place to boost the progress and development of the DRC, within the relations of cooperation and friendship that exist between the two countries.   At the end, João Lourenço wishes the Congolese president-elect "success in carrying out the noble and difficult task entrusted to him by the Congolese people".   Felix Tshisekedi won the DRC elections with 38.57 percent of the vote, followed by Martin Fayulu with 34.86 percent.

With this victory, Felix Tshisekedi, 55, will succeed outgoing president Joseph Kabila.
