As of today, he has assumed day-to-day leadership of the Organization. Ford, a 20-year Air Force veteran and founder of the National Association of Veteran-Serving Organizations (NAVSO), brings decades of leadership experience and unparalleled passion to helping military-connected families. Brian E. Kinsella, Stop Soldier Suicide’s co-founder, has stepped down from his role as Chief Executive Officer and has been named Executive Chairman. Kinsella will also continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“It has been a tremendous honor to serve as the CEO of Stop Soldier Suicide since founding the organization and I am incredibly proud of everything our team has accomplished together over the last eight years,” said Kinsella. “We’ve made meaningful progress in building a community and a foundation to scale our capabilities to help service members, veterans, and military families.”

“The Board and I are confident that Chris is the right person to build on this momentum,” Kinsella continued. “He is a seasoned leader with significant experience working across the veteran community and operating organizations at scale. We are lucky to have him as our next CEO.”

The assembled team, including staff and board members, are passionate about driving down the high rates of veteran suicide. We’re all in to do whatever it takes to change this unacceptable reality.”

Nick Black, Vice-Chairman of the Board added “After a 12-month search, we have no doubt Chris is the guy to lead Stop Soldier Suicide and the veteran community to see a day in which veterans no longer face such a high risk of suicide.”
