Angola: Vice President highlights head of state's governance dynamics

Luanda, ANGOLA, December 28 - The Vice President of Republic Bornito de Sousa Friday stressed the commitment of Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, since he came into office on September 26, 2017.,

The Vice President mentioned the fight against corruption, flattery, impunity and nepotism as the positive signs of this new dynamics in the way the President rules the country.

Speaking at the year-end greetings to the President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa said that a positive general opinion of the national and international press and citizens about the new Angolan government has been confirmed.

Since he came into office, João Lourenço started a set of reforms, such as the approval of the Law on Competition, the new Law on Private Investment, the restructuring of the diamond and oil sectors, among others, aiming to improve the business environment in Brazil.

As a result of his style of governance, João Lourenço, who took power just 15 months ago, was distinguished this week by the Spanish newspaper El País as one of the 10 African personalities of 2018.

Recently, President João Lourenço was elected International Figure of the Year by the viewers of the Portuguese television channel SIC, and by the readers of the newspaper Expresso.

In turn, President João Lourenço said to expect better days in 2019 for Angolans.
