Finding work after military service can be tough, it's now up to companies, and individuals in the community to assist veterans in finding employment.

TAMPA , FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- According to veteran Edwin Dixon Epperson III, it's now up to large companies, small businesses, and individuals in the community, "Creating jobs for veterans is one of the most important commitments that a society can undertake," suggests Mr. Epperson. "After all, the military not only creates jobs, but it keeps its country's citizens safe, provides purpose, and answers the higher calling of servitude," adds the Greater Tampa Bay Area veteran.

It's with this in mind that Edwin Dixon Epperson III, through his company Vertical Fund Management, is seeking to facilitate work and drive employment opportunities for veterans through strategic partnerships with local, veteran-owned businesses and organizations. "Such partnerships also look to address issues surrounding affordable housing, while simultaneously addressing the tremendous social challenge of taking care of veterans who have sacrificed so much for us as a nation," he reveals.

After service, veterans often face the harrowing prospect of reintegrating into society and picking up the lives they left behind prior to entering the military. This is often a difficult and daunting task, according to Mr. Epperson. "The world they find themselves back in is vastly different to their previous one; one of discipline, of camaraderie, and of answering life's higher calling of servitude,".

While the government places great importance on assisting veterans with reintegration, individuals and fellow veteran-owned small businesses such as Edwin Epperson and Vertical Fund Management, are now also committed to doing their part to create localized, grassroots career paths for these unsung heroes.

Edwin Dixon Epperson III goes on to explain that, in terms of government assistance, the Veterans Employment Center is perhaps the best resource on the internet for transitioning servicemen and women. "It's a government-wide service which connects veterans with a large number of public and private employers offering meaningful job opportunities, allowing veterans and their families to develop skills following their military experiences," he explains. The Veterans Employment Center also assists veterans in building portfolios which can be shared with potential employers and added to as they progress in their civilian careers and develop new skills.

Government aside, there are also a number of high profile companies which are prioritizing the hiring of veterans, according to Edwin Epperson . These, he explains, include The Walt Disney Company, CACI, Ryder, Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Baxter International, and Sprint.

By encouraging and facilitating local Tampa Bay businesses to hire veterans, Edwin Dixon Epperson III, and his company Vertical Fund Management, are committed to addressing what he calls the 'four vertical social challenges, challenges; Veteran, Sustainable, Conversational and Technological social challenges”.' Accordingly, Vertical Fund Management is working diligently to address these social challenges, of which Veterans are a priority one.

Being honorably discharged after more than 13 years in the United States Army as a Green Band, it's an issue close to Edwin Dixon Epperson's heart. While Edwin Epperson knows that the government and other institutions have programs in place to assist with reintegration, the veteran firmly believes that helping former service members begins at a grassroots level.

"Creating employment in the local Tampa Bay area, providing valuable trade skills training, and addressing the need for affordable housing, is a combination worthy of the endeavor," he adds in conclusion.
