Chemistry is an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year. Again.

LOS ANGELES, July 19, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Independent, full-service agency Chemistry today announced it has been named an Ad Age Small Agency of the Year for the second time. The agency’s first win came in 2016 with a Southeast Gold, and this year, they picked up a Northeast Gold at the publication’s Small Agency Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, honoring the industry’s best independent agencies from around the world with less than 150 employees.

“Thanks to the great folks we have here at Chemistry and our incredible partners, we’ve brought the award back for the second time in three years and covered the East Coast, first winning Southeast and now Northeast,” said Tim Smith, President of Chemistry. “We believe that culture wants to change, that uncomfortable ideas are welcome and that to excel in your category, you can’t just follow your competitors.”

In 2017, the agency grew by more than half, adding 24 new clients and projects to its roster, including Red Bull, YouTube, Atlanta United, Flower Child, COX Media and more. Chemistry has done it by changing its approach to client work, and has had some fun in the process, stepping away from traditional pitch decks – hiring street artists, wearing sumo suits, and filling a room with giant inflatables. The work has delivered strong results for clients.

During her tenure as Chief Marketing Officer of H&R Block, Kathy Collins noted: “Of the dozens of agency partners I’ve worked with and admired over the years, very few have achieved superstar status. Chemistry is the exception. Their strategic engagement and unique creative edge are only topped by their ‘always on’ nature and obsession to drive results. I can honestly say that their work moved our business — they never stopped bettering their modern approaches to performance marketing, always keeping an eye on the target and building on the integrity of the brand.”

As Chemistry has continued to grow, it has also made an investment in top talent, attracting creatives from 72&Sunny, Wieden+Kennedy, Crispin Porter and BBDO. With an expanding team, Chemistry moved to a larger office in the vibrant West Midtown district of Atlanta, transforming a former oil warehouse into a creative space.
