Church of Scientology & Humanitarian Centers Throw Third Anniversary Party in Downtown Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla., July 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Church of Scientology Flag Service Organization celebrated the Third Anniversary of the opening of its Information Center and centers for humanitarian programs the Church supports, with its now famous downtown Clearwater Block Parties.  Since the openings of the Centers on July 15th 2015, over 20,000 visitors have crossed their doors.  The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) Center was added to the roster in March of this year.  At the Block Party on the 14th of July 2018, over 2,000 guests enjoyed live music, clowns, a stilt walker, carnival-style games, face painting, a reptilian petting zoo, raffles and more on the corner of Cleveland Street and Fort Harrison Avenue.

Families enjoy the carnival-style games, complimentary food, entertainment, reptilian petting zoo and more at the block party sponsored by the Church of Scientology in Clearwater on July 14th.


Guests visited the Scientology Information and Humanitarian Centers, covering: United for Human Rights, The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay, Foundation for a Drug Free World, Criminon, Scientology Volunteer Ministers, Citizens Commission on Human Rights and the CCV. They toured the exhibits, watched the interactive videos and received materials on human rights, the Truth About Drugs, morals, and how CCHR is exposing mental health abuses.

“We are here to provide information to our community on solutions to social ills and to bring the community together,” said Nicole Biancolini, the event organizer and coordinator for the humanitarian centers.

Fifteen non-profit organizations joined in the celebration:  Caregiver's Helping Hand, Civilian Conservation Corp, Clearwater Community Gardens, Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, East Coast Golden Age Theater, Global Community Tennis, Scubanauts, Thomas Promise Foundation, Community Learning Center, Rays of Hope Outreach, Guardian Ad Litem, Lifelink, Holistic Coaching, Folklorico Mahetzi and Narconon.

The Church of Scientology’s Flag Band with guest singers, Stacey Francis, Taylor Pace, and Palmer Dernehl performed a wide array of music keeping crowds dancing throughout the event.

Guests were also given food vouchers as they entered the party so they could enjoy the pizza, sushi, tacos, ice cream and more which was provided free of charge by the Church.

The block party closed with a free chance drawing. The final prize included a $500 VISA gift card.
