BEIJING, April 28, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU), the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, today announced that its Chairman and CEO Robin Li and his wife Melissa Ma, together with the company, jointly donated RMB 660 million to Peking University. The donation commemorates the 120^th Anniversary of the institution and marks the establishment of the “Peking University Baidu Fund”. The donation will support cutting-edge research into areas that are highly compatible with the application of Baidu’s AI technologies, such as information management, medicine, economics, communications, and sociology.

On behalf of the faculty and students at Peking University, President Jianhua Lin thanked the couple for their generous support, and stated that he hopes Baidu and Peking University can work together to generate more innovation and contribute to the development of this new era.

Robin Li graduated from the Department of Information Management of Peking University in 1991.
