, press release

The Gazprom Neft Board of Directors has reviewed information on recent outcomes and the outlook for the further development of Gazpromneft Lubricants, operator the company’s lubricants business, established in 2007 and now holding a 21-percent share in the country’s packaged lubricants market.

Gazpromneft-Lubricants products are sold under the company’s G-Energy and Gazpromneft brands, allowing the company to offer the most appropriate products for various consumer profiles. The company’s main product portfolio comprises premium-class high-performance lubricants and oils, with more than 250 endorsements from leading automotive, engineering and equipment producers including КАМАЗ, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Renault, Volvo, Scania, General Electric, Bosh and others.

FY2017 year-end results show the company increased sales of its G-Energy-branded oils and lubricants by 12 percent year-on-year, reaching 46,000 tonnes. Sales of various premium lubricants increased by eight percent, to 279,400 tonnes. Gazpromneft-Lubricants’ total sales across all market sectors increased by seven percent, to 580,300 tonnes.

In the space of 10 years the company has become one of the most important players in its niche market, establishing science and technology facilities and significantly increasing production capacity. A modern production and logistics complex, producing high-technology lubricants, has been created across the company’s Omsk Lubricants Plant the Moscow Lubricants Plant (within the Gazprom Neft Omsk and Moscow Refineries), the company’s lubricants facility in Bari, Italy, its lubricants production facility at the NIS refinery in Serbia, and its synthetic lubricants production facilities in Nizhny Novgorod and Yaroslavl (part of Slavneft-YaNOS). The company invested a total RUB14.4 billion in developing the production infrastructure of its lubricants business in 2017.

The company’s products are available in 72 countries worldwide, shipping approximately 2,000 tonnes of packaged lubricants to customers every week, with the Gapzromneft-Lubricants international distribution network covering more than 300 companies. Gazpromneft-Lubricants supplies major enterprises across various industries, including supplying the production lines at KAMAZ, BelAZ, UAZ, Rostselmash and other dealership networks. The Gazprom Neft filling station network is also an important sales channel.

Since 2014 Gazpromneft-Lubricants has also been developing its G-Energy Service servicing network, which now includes 120 independent partner stations offering technical servicing throughout Russia and abroad.

Gazpromneft-Lubricants is actively involved in import substitution programmes being implemented with businesses in the housing and utilities, agricultural, and municipal transportation sectors, promoting the use of domestic alternatives to imported products. As at 2017, more than 200 government-funded agencies and organisations had begun using G-Energy and Gazpromneft products.

The company is a market-leading producer of lubricants for marine transport and shipping in the Russian Federation, introducing its new Gazpromneft Ocean brand in 2017 in order to develop its international business and further expand the company’s geographic range.

The company’s strategic development is now focussed on developing its high-performance range — which in turn demands further expanding capacity, including arranging lubricant production facilities in target markets abroad.
