Better production efficiency at its Moscow refinery delivers a RUB1.3-billion financial benefit for Gazprom Neft in 2017

Specialists at the Moscow Refinery implemented 45 initiatives in improving production efficiency throughout 2017, with the cumulative economic benefits thereof reaching RUB1.3 billion. Work has been undertaken at 25 technological facilities across the enterprise. The greatest financial benefit was seen in modernising the ELOU-AVT-6 crude oil distillation unit, thanks to which furnace efficiency improved 16 percentage points, to 83 percent. Projects were also implemented in improving the production of high-performance gasoline components at the catalytic reforming facility, and in load reduction on technological equipment at the visbreaking unit.

Improving the viability of its refineries is one of the priority objectives of the major modernisation programme currently being implemented by Gazprom Neft throughout its facilities. As part of this initiative Gazprom Neft is implementing projects directed at increasing plant productivity, increasing the capacity and energy efficiency of refining assets, improving operational reliability, and reducing non-recoverable losses. More than 250 initiatives have been undertaken at the Moscow Refinery as part of this programme between 2011 and 2017, delivering a financial benefit in the order of RUB15 billion.

The Moscow Refinery will be continuing its work on improving production efficiency throughout 2018, with planned activities including pre-conditioning works for the planned refurbishment of technological facilities. A total 15 production-efficiency improvement initiatives are planned, across 12 technological facilities.
