The grant also underscores the positive partnership between Investors Bank and professional sports, broadcasting and philanthropic icon Boomer Esiason, who is also Co-Chairman of BEF. The Boomer Esiason Foundation plans to use the Investors Foundation grant to expand its educational programs benefitting the cystic fibrosis (CF) community. The educational programs include, but are not limited to, podcasts, videos, blogs, and scholarships, along with “Team Boomer,” a program that works to encourage people with cystic fibrosis to live active, healthy lifestyles and welcomes any athlete to join the team to raise funds and awareness for the cause.

Mr. Esiason began focusing on cystic fibrosis in 1993 when his son, Gunnar, was diagnosed with the disease. BEF was launched as a dynamic coalition of leaders in the medical and business communities along with a deeply committed core of volunteers. Since its founding, the organization has raised more than $135 million, which goes to support the cystic fibrosis community in the here and now as well as fund research.
