President João Lourenço to visit France in May

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 3 - The Angolan President, João Lourenço, is to make an official visit to France on 28 May, this year, at the invitation of his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron. ,

Last Thursday, the French Foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, was received in an audience, in Luanda, by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço.

 

The French government official seized the occasion to hand over to João Lourenço a letter from Emmanuel Macron, in which the French President formalises the invitation to his Angolan counterpart.

 

The economic relations between France and Angola date a long way back, with highlight on the sector of crude-oil.

 

The French government has shown great interest in the Angolan economic diversification programme, which is one of the main focuses of the government led by João Lourenço.
