Photo Friday: Publix Super Markets Recognized for 2017 Food Safety Innovation Award

Publix Super Markets was recognized for receiving the 2017 Food Safety Innovation Award at FMI’s Food Safety Committee meeting held on Friday, January 26 prior to the 2018 Midwinter Executive Conference. Publix was selected by the award selection committee for demonstrating a commitment to advance food safety and maintaining the highest standards for food safety.

Jerry Wojtala, executive director at the International Food Protection Training Institute attended the meeting to present the award to Michael Roberson, director of corporate quality assurance at Publix.

Publix was awarded the inaugural Food Safety Innovation Award in September 2017 at a Capitol Hill Reception honoring International Food Protection Training Institute (IFPTI) senior fellows but was unable to attend the event due to Hurricane Irma.
