Freddie Mac Prices First Lower LTV STACR Deal of 2018

CRT Reference Pools Top $900 Billion

/EINPresswire.com/ -- MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwired - Jan 25, 2018) - Freddie Mac (OTCQB: FMCC) priced a $900 million Structured Agency Credit Risk (STACR®) debt notes offering, its first lower LTV deal of the year. Through STACR, its flagship credit risk transfer offering, Freddie Mac transfers a portion of its mortgage credit risk on certain groups of loans to private investors. 

Pricing for STACR Series 2018-DNA1:

  • M-1 class was one-month LIBOR plus a spread of 45 basis points.
  • M-2 class was one month LIBOR plus a spread of 180 basis points. 
  • B-1 class was one month LIBOR plus a spread of 315 basis points.

STACR 2018-DNA1 has a reference pool of single-family mortgages with an unpaid principal balance (UPB) of approximately $34.7 billion, consisting of a subset of fixed-rate, single-family mortgages with an original term of 241 to 360 months acquired by Freddie Mac between April 1, 2017, and July 31, 2017. The reference pool includes loans with LTVs ranging from 60 to 80 percent. Freddie Mac holds in its entirety the senior loss risk A-H tranche and the first loss B-2H tranche in the capital structure. Freddie Mac also retains a portion of the risk in the class M-1, M-2 and B-1 tranches.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and J.P Morgan Securities LLC are co-lead managers and joint bookrunners.
