Fantasy Author and Publisher Roxanne Bland Returns to CUTV News Radio

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, UNITED STATES, January 2, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- CUTV News Radio today announced it will welcome back award-winning fantasy and science fiction author Roxanne Bland for a nine-part series hosted by Jim Masters and Doug Llewelyn every Thursday afternoon at 3pm EDT from January 4th to MARCH 1st. Roxanne will discuss the release of her new acclaimed novel Invasion.

“When I write my books, I have no idea what's going to happen,” says Bland. “I have an idea of how to get from A to B to C, but I have no idea what's going to happen on the journey. And that's why they call me a pantser: I write by the seat of my pants.”

When Roxanne Bland unlocks her imagination, she creates fantastical worlds that grab the reader’s attention from her book’s very first lines. Roxanne is the author of acclaimed self-published fantasy and science fiction novels, The Underground, The Moreva of Astoreth, and her most recent novel: Invasion.

Roxanne’s world-building creates an immersive reading experience, blending fantasy, science-fiction, horror and even erotica.

“The erotica just kind of grew organically from the story itself,” says Roxanne. “There needed to be a sexual tension, a conflict, because that's what usually happens as a romance progresses. I just wrote and it came out that they had sex.”

Like any artist, a writer must be both the creator and the audience at the same time, says Roxanne. You have to be able to step back and ask, “If I were my audience, what would I see that could be better?” The burden to do this is on the writer. One could just leave it all to the editor, but Roxanne believes authors ought to do this for themselves.

“You have to compose as if someone's going to listen to it,” says Roxanne. “If I'm going to write a story or tell a tale, then I have to keep the audience in mind.”

And that includes the editing process. There’s always a second edition. A sequel to apply something new she’s learned. For Roxanne, writing is very much process-oriented. A finished book is a bonus.

“I define fruition as the story. Whether it's a book or a short story, a poem, it doesn't matter. It's the end product,” says Roxanne. “How I write really depends on the tone of the scene and what I do within that scene. What are the characters doing, what are they saying? Are they upset? Are they relaxed? I try to match my writing style to that scene.”
