MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, December 6, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A 50/50 raffle fundraiser is a simple avenue to raise money for a good cause. These type of fundraisers often are used at everything from high school football games to state lottery contests. Erik Agazim knows how easy it is to hold a unique fundraiser and has plans to host his own 50/50 raffle.

While the premise of a raffle is simple and straightforward, Agazim is hoping to make a significant event out of it. He wants his plan to be meaningful because the more people come to the fundraiser, the more tickets sold.

This reasoning is because Agazim plans on donating half of the money raised to the local recreation department. And the raffle will be held at the next sports banquet gathering.

"I learned that the sports banquet does not participate in a 50/50 raffle during the event," explains Agazim. "I've already talked to the supervisors, and they think it's a wonderful idea for the banquet."

Erik Agazim's Idea For The Fundraiser And Dinner

"For a 50/50 raffle, there has to be a massive gathering," says Agazim. "Having the raffle at the sports banquet means over one hundred families will be in attendance. That's potentially a significant amount of money raised."

The banquet is usually just a dinner and recognition of the team's season. There is a dinner provided, and awards are handed out to star players. Adding the raffle to the banquet means one lucky person is going to take home half of the money raised.

Therefore, the other half of the money will go directly to the recreation department. No matter how many tickets sold, the city will be benefiting from Agazim's kindness and support.

"Any amount will help out with their needs," adds Agazim. "I'm hoping for a lot of tickets sold."

Money Going Towards Helping Sports Department

Agazim has talked to the recreation office about how the donation money will help.

The half of the money raised during the fundraiser will go towards new equipment and travel expenses for the teams. Any leftover money will go towards new uniforms.

"Because the city has a strict budget, sometimes certain departments get overlooked and rely on donations," explains Agazim. "It's one area that has gone a few years with little funds from the city."

Hundreds of children play sports throughout the city during the year. Football has become a favorite sport across the country for youngsters, but equipment changes each year.

New research and advancements in technology lead to equipment modifying to become safer. That's why some of the money raised will go towards new helmets to keep the children protected.

"Helmets cost a lot of money, so I know a large portion will go towards buying them," says Agazim.

Necessary Preparations Made Before Raffle Is Official

There are still plenty of planning and coordinating that needs accomplishing. Agazim wants to make sure the raffle takes place at the banquet so he can promote.

"I want to let those attending that there will be a raffle benefiting the recreation department they choose to be a part of each year," says Agazim. "Maybe that will bring some people out who planned on not attending. Plus, half of their money is going back into the teams. Whether you win the big prize or not, you are helping a great cause."

The only purchase Agazim needs to make are the raffle tickets. Volunteers at the fundraiser and dinner will go around with tickets to sell. If someone wants to buy tickets, there will be plenty of people willing to help.

"This is all for the children and improvement of the teams and their ability to have the best equipment," says Agazim. "I know the community will be behind this once we announce the plans."
